Below is a short clip and quote from the episode. If you’ve ever wondered if you need a website as a yoga teacher, then please listen! These tips are also important for anyone else who works for themselves!
Head over to the Yogi Tones website to listen to the full episode. (You can also download it on iTunes or your favorite podcast app.)
Why building a website is good for your yoga business
“We start with the strategy behind what they’re going to create for their website. I always start by talking about who their ideal client is and it’s sort of a little bit of branding. It’s similar if you’re doing yoga teaching because you DO have a business.
I think a lot of people kind of cringe when they hear that or what they don’t think of themselves as a business owner or an entrepreneur, but really you are if you’re trying to work yourself you are a business owner.
So when you’re thinking about what kind of work you want to be doing…who are you best suited to serve what skills and experience do you have that you want to share? That’s the kind of conversation I want people to start thinking about as they’re creating their website. Creating a website really walks you through some necessary steps to being a successful business owner in itself. So it’s kind of like a holistic approach.
Creating your website is NOT just putting this website up on the Internet to just have this thing because you feel like you have to do it. It’s a really good exercise and term for being a business owner and being a yoga teacher. It really helps you walk through some visualization and to get a feel for who you are and what you want your business and life to be.”
Thanks to Tony for inviting me on the show. Definitely check out his other podcast episodes and also the awesome works he’s doing connecting yoga teachers with job openings all over the country.
