The past few months have been a whirlwind for me and I don’t see any signs of things slowing down, especially with the holidays coming up. One of the biggest motivating factors in my life right now is that I’m expecting my first baby (a girl!) next February. What does this have to do with business? A lot, actually! I have a bunch of things I’m working on to get my business in a good place before I take a maternity leave.
That being said, I’m getting back into writing down my monthly business goals. I love doing this because it helps me stay on track with the things that are really important and also to re-evaluate things as I move forward. A while back I posted a few journal prompts for setting business goals, which is a good place to start it you’re like me, with a never-ending to-do list!
Launch my first paid course
Aside from some amazing projects I’m working on with my web design clients, the number one thing I want to actually complete this month is launching my new (and first ever) paid course, Love Your Brand! I’ve been having so much fun gathering all of the content for this course and organizing it into a step-by-step guide for creative entrepreneurs to build a great brand.
Stay consistent with Instagram
One of my biggest challenges is staying consistent with social media outreach. I recently found a 30-day challenge from Small Talk Social which has been really helpful for coming up with ideas to post on Instagram. I want to stay active on this network in particular because I love interacting with creative and connecting with other smart biz ladies!
Grow my private Facebook group
Have you heard? I started my new Facebook group, Love Your Brand + Business for business owners who are ready take things to the next level! Thanks to those of you who have joined the conversation already. I’m dedicating time this month to creating engaging content, prompts and questions to encourage people to share, ask questions and connect with each other. I’m also working on graphics to spread the word on social media.
Hire an independent contractor (who isn’t me!)
Of all the new things I’m working on for my business, this is definitely the most foreign to me. If you didn’t know, I have a background in web development, which is what led me to start my web design business. I’ve always worked with clients one-on-one and have done all of the design and development myself. So it’s exciting to be taking a leap this month by bringing on an independent contractor to help out with some projects. This is one of my goals that will really help me as I move closer to my maternity leave.
Those are my main goals for this month and now I’m off to get started on all of the things that need to happen in order to meet them!
What are you October goals? Share them in the comments below and we can keep each on track!
